BERNHARD SZENSZ

Bernhard is a composer and percussionist based in Vienna, Austria. His musical journey began with a passion for drums and percussion, leading him to explore diverse musical styles from classical to rock/pop/EDM, folk, wind band, and Big Band music. He has performed with renowned orchestras such as the Vienna State Opera, Volksoper Wien, Neue Oper Wien, and the Tonkünstler Orchestra, touring countries like Japan and China. Bernhard has also played as a drummer and percussionist in numerous bands and ensembles. During his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts (MDW) in Vienna, he discovered his passion for composition while arranging music for various ensembles.

He has composed music for projects such as the short film "Dolly" and recently scored the music for the children’s series "Team Teretz", as well as the short film "The Treasure of Lightning Bay", while regularly releasing new music. Apart from his musical career, Bernhard shares his love for percussion through teaching. He is enthusiastic about exploring new avenues in music, including music-tech-related projects, and perfecting the "art of making better coffee."

Collaboration is essential to Bernhard, and he enjoys spending time with colleagues. In summer 2024, he will relocate to Los Angeles to further immerse himself in film composition. He looks forward to meeting new people, collaborating on exciting projects, and expanding his musical horizons through performances and compositions. Bernhard is open to collaborations in film scoring as well as performance and recording work for percussion and drums.
